Special Education Itinerant & Related Services

SEIS (Special Education Itinerant Services) is a special education program that provides a special education itinerant teacher (SEIT) to support the specific learning requirements of an eligible child who is enrolled in a community preschool or daycare center. Services are available to children between 2.9 and 5 years of age, who have learning and/or social emotional delays. Services are provided as approved on the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) by a licensed certified special education teacher. The Special Education Itinerant Teacher will work directly with the child and assist the classroom teacher in modifying the learning environment or instructional methods that would best meet the child’s needs. The Special Education Itinerant Teacher provides instruction and activities that work toward goal achievement.

Special Education Itinerant Services can be provided in a variety of settings which include Children At Play, neighborhood preschools or community daycare centers.

Related Services are provided either individually or in small group settings to children between 2.9 and 5 years of age, who have been identified with delays in speech/language, sensory organization, gross/fine motor skills, self-help, and/or social/emotional development. Services are provided by licensed Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapists, School Psychologists, Social Workers and/or a registered Nurse.  Children who receive Related Services do not require a special education classroom and may be enrolled in community preschools.

Related Services can be provided at Children At Play’s center. Services are provided as approved on the child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) by a licensed certified clinician.
