Children At Play

Hearing Education

Hearing education services are available for children between the ages of 2.10 years and 5 years, who are deaf, hearing impaired or who have cochlear implants. The clinician focuses on speech-reading, auditory training, and communication strategies that will help children develop functional use of auditory ability. Emphasis is placed upon auditory development throughout each day and audition must be integrated into the child’s communication environment both in school and at home. Hearing Education Service Providers work as a team, with teaching staff, therapists and families to assure a cohesive curriculum is followed both at school and in the home.

All services are funded by the NYS and NYC Department of Education. Children at Play admits students of any race, color, nationality and ethnic origin.
